After almost 40years of driving Jag I g to have first replacement windscreen. Stone hit top right corner leaving a 25mm star. Jaguar dealer said new screen so Autoglass booked via insurance. Interesting their site said 567 Fpace screens fitted so far, seems a lot!

Now waiting to find replacement heated screen. :(

Screen replaced today. To be fair they tried to repair it but it didn't really meet a good enough standard so it was replaced. Calibration on Thursday as the guys who turned up didn't have training. Apparently I had a message to this effect, interesting as I have voicemail turned off!

Anyway, new screen fits and so far all looks good.

Calibration now done too by autoglass, took 30 mins including brief test drive. Saying good bye to my FPace tomorrow....

Saying hello to Portfolio XJ with just 1,000 miles in two years, brand new with 50% discount and far too many toys!

I shall miss the Fpace practicalitybut only for a few minutes!

I had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass/General Accident however they fitted a not original screen this one has wavy lines for the heater running down it which play havoc with my spectacles and I am forced to drive without them on as the view is clearer that way. Complained to Autoglass and they are sending out an inspector. Anyone had similar issues?

My Jaguar heated windscreen was first repaired and then replaced under Autoglass warranty when the crack migrated a few months later. It isn't a Jaguar branded screen but it makes no difference as it is an exact match. I was really impressed with the Autoglass service at their fitting centre. I was there about an hour to have screen fitted and calibrated.

If I understand correctly you have been given a screen with the heating element but don't have a heated screen? If so it seems a bit pointless but I don't find it bothers me when driving at all.

Looks like they've ordered the wrong one for some reason, and either not noticed or carried on regradless with the fitting.

A heated screen takes some getting used to, but you do learn to see past the lines.... The disadvantage of having the lines in the screen both in the Summer and at night, is outweighed by how useful it is in the Winter...

If Autoglass have fitted a heated screen, then you now have all the disadvantages with none of the advantages.... I would definitely get them to replace the screen back to standard spec, (or some compensation you would be happy with.....)

Maybe look into the cost of getting the heated screen enabled via a dealer if its posible? Worth finding out before the Autoglass Inspector arrives. Possibly a cheaper option for Autoglass that they might pay for? At a minimum it would need the heated rear screen switch replaced with a front and rear switch, and possibly some coding to enable it...I imagine the wiring would already be there......Just a thought..
