I know there have been a couple of mentions on here - can't find any confirmation though - about the possibility of a mythical F-Pace.
I have very recently been informed by a reliable source* - and I've seen it being tested - that the F-Pace SVR will arrive later this year.
5.0 supercharged V8, as in the F-Type. almost 600hp, with uprated everything.
Rumoured to be sensibly priced (if something like this can be sensible) at about £60k for the base model.
Local dealer would neither confirm nor deny, but did say say Jaguar are planning to go further down the performance route with all cars, as the new XE would signify.
I know there are a couple of vids doing the rounds from the Nurburgring etc. so it seems to back up the info.
I don't get how they can make all cars in one production unless they've already sold them all?
Usually, you spec the car you want, order it, and wait 3-6 months (depending on manufacturer).
If they're all made at the same time, then only people who have already picked their spec will get what they want. The rest would have to take a pre- defined spec.
I was in my dealer last weekend - and so far I'm the only person to place an order there.
Are they only going to make a limited amount of F Pace SVRs?
These cars will start off on the main F Pace line, then be pulled to be finished as SVRs
They may allocate in batches of 500, but they won't wait until they have 500 orders before they then build them all. The whole point of Special Vehicle Operations is that they allude to being more 'hand built' & unique, so two production lines will slow the build time down. They are not, however limited, although I guess the end of the line for the V8 engine manufacture will mean that they will be one to keep. Not for value, but as a bit of history, once we are all forced to plug in, tune out and give up.
Q1 2019. Jan-March first deliveries. Demonstrators in the next 2-3 weeks, order books open shortly after.
Yeah - it's a shame someone local can't go into the Stockport dealership and take some more photos from other angles!
I did find the interior photo useful a few weeks back when trying to convince my dealer that ticking the 'carbon interior' box actually changed the gear shifter surround. On the configurator, it doesn't change this part on the image - but the interior photo above shows clearly that that car has carbon!
It's 5 months after my initial inquiry the dealer still hasn't been in touch. If this goes on much linger I will take delivery of the Merc I ordered in the meantime, despite it being ordered 3 months after inquiring about the SVR and there being a 3 month wait on the build.
The dealer probably knows less than you do to be fair! Hopefully they'll be able to actually put an order into their system in the next couple of weeks... and then it's just a matter of time.
For the last couple of months my dealer has promised I'd get the car this year. Now they're starting to realise that there is NO WAY it'll be here until at LEAST February.
I really want to see the press getting one, and see what sort of picture the reviews paint.

Just spoke to SVO Coventry help desk, a very nice lady tells me the hold up on taking orders for the F Pace SVO is down to tyre testing\supply issues. No specifics but promised they really are going to manufacture it! She suggested retailers may be able to put orders through some time in January, again, nothing specific. When asked about the woeful paint finish options, she was genuinely surprised that the "Premium Pallet" option is not on the "Build your car" tool on their website. I cannot see it, could be mistaken though. Should be interesting as I put my order in way back in August to see if they honour the price quoted!
Second quarter of 2019, delay due to emissions and getting it in-line with the rest of the range. It will most probably be less power than originally advertised, but tweaked to improved acceleration and power transference. Apparently it will also be a bit quieter than originally expected.
From a good source, again not the guy down the pub.

Emissions and power can be reduced through some simple tuning and reprogramming the ECU. It can also be altered through the exhaust system, which could also lower the noise.
From what I understand this is to be done across the board with the Jaguar range, so it would seem likely the Range Rover models will probably follow suit.
If it were a simple matter of remapping I am sure that would not be a cause to hold up production. If I were a betting type I imagine they are struggling to achieve the required emissions without turning the vehicle into a snail, a very hungry snail at that. As the whole point, in my case, was the performance and "sound" of the SVO if it is to be strangled I could spend my £90k better elsewhere. Such a difficult decision, maybe just hang on to the 3 litre petrol for the time being.

Without knowing the intricacies of what Jaguar has to achieve, remapping and whatever else is needed is most likely not that simple, as you say trying to make it work without losing too much performance is a pretty long and sometimes costly process.
From a personal point of view, my interest in this car has now waned.
Just been to the Local Jag dealer in Melbourne. He says there is no delay but everyone wants a 2019 build. He has one that is still looking good to make its build and be delivered in February. Also said its available for sale.
Maybe we will have stock sooner than we thought in the land of snakes, spiders, sharks and every other nasty creatures !
Just had a call from my local dealer and he confirmed my SVR is in pre -production as of now and delivery date for the 5th April 2019, subject to change i might add.
