I've tried many times to to d/load the latest maps to usb stick, each time a window pops up stating there's not enough space on the stick - I've tried 5 different sticks including a brand new 3.1 with 64gb, I've also tried 2 other computers but the same issue remains.

I've emailed JLR many times for help but I don't even get an acknowledgement back from them

Has anyone else experienced this?

When you delete from the stick , make sure you empty the trash ,then check the space on the stick again.

On a Mac even if you delete from the usb the space is not released till you empty the trash on the PC

Make sure you are using a USB3 stick too.

I've tried with a brand new stick straight out of the packet but still get the same pop up. Thanks for helping though

Also what PC do you have ? Older windows used to have a 4G limit in transfer size of file.
Might help if I knew what the PC software is .....Windows. Version or Mac. Version.

Hi June, sorry for not replying sooner, the new stick format is "exfat", I'm using Mac v10.12.6 Sierra
I'm on Mac Sierra too .

If you plug in the USB right click over it and select "info", does it show the free space available and space used?
( a little box should pop up and show you info on the USB)

Can you copy a file manually do the usb , drag and drop something to it.

To empty it delete the file on the usb , then empty the trash bin.
Info should then show space used and free space again.

Just want to know if the usb accepts files manually.

You can also format the usb as fat32 in Sierra by doing as per this link .

Read the comments too at the end of the article as mac has a funny way of formatting to fat32 as the gui interface is misleading.
BUT
Make DOUBLY SURE YOU ARE FORMATTING THE USB AND NOT THE MAC HARD DRIVE!!

https://www.admfactory.com/how-to-format-usb-flash-drive-to-fat32-in-mac-os/

I had to format my usb as it came with another file format on it.

Here's the comments I found most use ful
Format as MSDOS(FAT) then you'll get FAT32

""
On my Mac, which is running Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6, reformatting USB-mounted microSD card, there is no "Scheme" dropdown to select from. And the "MSDOS (FAT-32)" item in the Format dropdown is grayed out. But the "MSDOS (FAT)" item is available. So it appears that FAT-32 is unavailable.

But when I format the drive using the "MSDOS (FAT)" option, the Details say "512 bytes per physical sector
/dev/rdisk4s1: 15605960 sectors in 1950745 FAT32 clusters (4096 bytes/cluster)
bps=512 spc=8 res=32 nft=2 mid=0xf8 spt=32 hds=255 hid=8192 drv=0x80 bsec=15636480 bspf=15241 rdcl=2 infs=1 bkbs=6"

So apparently, the "FAT32 clusters" tells me it really is using FAT32. When I mount the formatted SD card, Get Info tells me the format is "MSDOS (FAT-32)".

I'm glad it's possible, but I almost didn't find it, since the UI is so misleading. I hope Apple will fix this.

I have posted this last week as I found the following problem after spending £97.00 on this update.

Finally the map update is now available for the InService Touch SD Card Sat Nav.
I have been regularly checking for updates since I picked up my F-Pace last March 2017 as there was a few new bridges and motorways missing.
The update is available from Jaguar using their programme.:
jaguar.naviextras.com

But the cost is £97.00. I complained when I picked up the car as it was showing a 2016 map. The dealership agreed to pay for a update so here's hoping they refund me, still waiting after a week.

I have found a problem downloading the upgrade to the original SD card supplied with the car as this card is a 8GB with 7.45GB usable space.
I think the new map upgrade is maxing out this card and not allowing the maps to be transferred and going into lockout.
I tried a 32GB SD Card and it downloaded right away.
So first of all copy your original card to your PC then copy the files to a larger SD card to let it update from the map programme.
Contacted Jaguar Customer Support two weeks ago and still awaiting their response to this fault.
