I'm working in Germany for a while so decide to book my UK purchased F Pace into the local Jag dealership to get ICTP update, I asked for a courtesy car but was told I couldn't have one because I bought the car in UK and not Germany!

Has anyone else experienced this?

Good afternoon Lofty8174,

Thank you for your post.

I would like to advise that you would need to liaise with the approved Land Rover retailer in Germany in relation to a courtesy vehicle as it will depend on what vehicles they have available on their courtesy hire fleet.

Regrettably as the manufacturer this is not something that we are directly involved in.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks, Stacie

Hi Stacie

I did liaise with the JLR dealer in Germany and they said I was not entitled to a courtesy car for the reasons I mentioned previously and not the availability of courtesy fleet.

I don't understand this policy especially as the ICTP fault is across JLR and not in anyway related to purchase locations or dealerships.

I think the real problem is some dealers know how to treat customers and some don't.

I dread to think what support someone with a bigger problem would face whilst seeking help from JLR abroad

My partner's Mini....2 years old and 4600 on the clock...has developed an engine management unit fault and was taken away today for repair under warranty. The replacement loan vehicle will be arriving shortly. Not a BMW but a rental car provided by a UK BMW dealership. They did not supply the car. In effect a foreign car in a foreign country. Can't see why it should matter where a vehicle is purchased, a warranty should he honoured and a replacement vehicle provided.

Update from JLR CS confirms you should get a courtesy car whilst abroad -

Thank you for your email, apologies that I am not aware of your circumstances, however should the vehicle be within the 3 year manufacturers warranty or an extended warranty you would be entitled to a courtesy vehicle.

Yours sincerely
Donna
