Just seen the following page on Jaguar UK website.

https://www.jaguar.co.uk/owners/software-update.html

hopefully that means the over the air (ota) updates will be shortly enabled (I believe that some Velar owners are already able to update over the air)

I just checked my MY18 ICTP (currently 18c) for updates and it said there were none so I'm assuming that it's not entirely fully live yet as I believe that there is an 18d version now (I was on my home wi-fi network at the time)

Anyway, we live in hope, but looks like we might be a step or so closer !

Regards,
Mike.

Not sure if I'd be too hasty about enabling OTA updates, if they do materialise. With the connectivity issues some cars are apparently having and JLR's record on getting complex software releases to integrate seamlessly with the multitude variety of options we all have on our cars, this whole thing could turn into a complete owner's nightmare! Evidence the I-Pace forum, which doesn't seem to be an overly happy place in this regard.

Can't help but think that they should just concentrate on getting the ICTP system stable and rolled out consistently before adding more features.

Most owners will be running and living with out of date versions of the software as updating it is such a time consuming and painful process.

My own worry from experience is when these updates are done at dealers who have all the equipment that JLR recommend and training, even they have had serious issues with cars needing new hardware, now if this same updates are done over the air you could find people with issues with there cars at stranded home.

My advice would be if you want an update get the dealer to sort it, that way they have the car if something should go wrong.

The SOTA switch in topix just hangs for me when I try to activate it, can anyone get it to turn on? To find the switch do the following.

Log into topix
Click "Try New Features of Topix"
Enter your VIN and find your car
Click top right "View all vehicle details"
In the pop up window click the tab "vehicle software"
Here you will find the SOTA switch

I have tried the same having found out about the TOPIX, it gives an error message sometimes or just spinning circle. Car lists the option for over the air updates, but says none available.

I also found that the latest software for my vehicle is listed as LX37-19C204-BA, but then states the status is not applicable. Why do they llist a software update and then state it is not applicable.

Car is a portfolio, with in touch pro, wifi etc. what is needed to get the updates. Did manage to get the car updated at the last service in Jan, after stating I was having problems with the system, but it took an extra day on top of the service

FYI All........

My ICTP system has had 2 over the air (OTA) updates sent to my vehicle this month. The first one was on 5/17/19. The second one came in this morning (5/24/19) when I got in and started her up. So far my entire system (and I mean ALL of it) has been performing flawlessly and behaving as it should.

Reading on another forum I think you are saying you've had updates to "Live" not actual system updates via the Software Update section in the settings. Correct me of course if I'm wrong.

Do these updates happen automatically as I appear to have more features on my Vehicle Information screen now than I used to have, oil capacity in litres for one? The recommended tyre PSI has gone up from 34 to 35 all round too!

Yesterday switching on and I had a message on display update available.
Initially I was connected to 4G until I remembered I hadn't put the password in for new Broadband provider.
Left it with only a couple of bars Wi-fi signal.
This morning still showing same message drove 4 miles then reversed onto drive as I guess aerial for Wi-fi must be in the rear now all signal bars lit up.
Checked system update now showing another update this time told me it was 160mb and asked did I want to download or postpone.
I chose download and switched off.
I'll be back in the car in a few hours and will check again what's happened.

Hey Barthog, I don't suppose they've fixed the map colour Auto option have they?

Since my last update, when the map colour is set to "Auto", it just stays on whatever colour it was on before, and then reverts back to black next time I start up. It used to auto toggle between black/white for night/day.

Thanks,

Balders

Mines in for a wheel bearing replacement at the moment. I assume they've done an update, as my "Remote" app thinks I can get almost 500 miles from the current tank like it did when I was new!

I'm hoping it fixes that issue too. I just set it to light for summer, as it was never dark enough to need the black setting!

#Me Too! I was told exactly the same story when I picked my car up following a service last Monday.
