Just thought I'd start the thread in readiness...

Apparently it's coming to a cinema near you very soon.....

I wonder what the 'Helmet' will become then?

That's fantastic news re android auto taking up the full screen now - do the colours look more crisp and less washed out than before by chance? (it looked v drab vs ictp to me)

Shame about the track memory still not working,,,

The download Music Player is pretty much unusable on 19A as it keeps throwing up corruption errors. I've gone back to a USB stick at least this works but hardly ever remembers the position it was in after a restart.

Another positive 19A experience here, and Android Auto working without an issue. The only issue I've found is that the DAB channels still aren't showing any station-specific logos (which was the stated reason for updating the software) - does anyone get the logos?

I did initially get a corrupted queue error with the Media Library, but after selecting a new track it fixed the problem.

@hitman - thanks for the tip about the Android Auto widescreen. Makes it much more nicer. I was rather expecting it just to work, given that the app update description stated widescreen support, but found that I had to enable the widescreen/720p/1080p options in the AA Developer options.

Ok, I'm encouraged that all is not lost! Going back on Monday 25 ...
And it's now fixed and seems fine, voice now working, NAV talks to me...I think this version is overall pretty good.

Still the exact same 19A build number, and from what they said today, it rather sounds like a incomplete install (and poor testing) as they just seemed to reset some bits today. Car was ready by lunchtime.

The colours are not as vivid as the jaguar system, I drop screen brightness to a minimum which helps.

I now only use AA in the car, having the power of Google assistant on my steering wheel is priceless, everything can be controlled by voice, from navigation searches, calling anyone (even if not in my address book) to switching on my heating at home. If you have a music service then you can play anything you want just by asking

Having the power of Google navigation is brilliant, I now use one of about 6 different routes to and from work, trusting Google, it saves so much time, changes the entire experience of the car

I found my first issue with 19A. The sat nav map is set on Auto day/night mode, but it's not toggling automatically, and always starts off in night mode. It worked ok before the 19A update. Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Other than that, it's been fine for the past week, and Android Auto has been working very well too.

HI all, I just got my ITCP upgraded from the previous version to phase four and I experience the following issues I didn't before;

- No voice recognition & voice commands not available
- maps not switching from "night" theme to "day" theme when in auto mode --> seems this is happening to more folks too...
- when scrolling up & down in some menus the screen seems to split in two, going at different speeds (like 0.5 sec)
Driving to the garage soon to get this fixed asap.

Also, I wanted to ask if any of you have experience some acceleration/ speed performance issues after the update, as I feel my jag is not as sharp as it was before... is it the imaginary after-garage-something-is-still-not-working type of feeling, or can the upgrade to ITCP phase 4 cause performance issues?

Would be great if any of you could answer to this last question, or had the same feeling/ experience. Cheers,

Hi,

Do you know exactly which update you had? 'Phase 4' includes about 5 updates, the last being '19A' (some are calling this phase 4.5 just to be helpful..)

I had 19A last week, picked it up on Friday....

My voice is ok, well it still doesn't understand motorway services but that's because it's Dutch product and being a small, flat country, they have no need for them...

Got the auto night/day theme issue, no apparent problems with scrolling, however.....

Had a return of memory steering wheel being stuck in park position (after 2 1/2 years I know this is an obvious sign of a crap update) AND after two reasonable weekend trips I felt that not only the acceleration was a bit stunted but also the suspension was a bit more wobbly in 'normal' setting.....

With all previous cars I'd put this down to post-dealership paranoia, however ICTP DOES affect these things, so we may not be imagining it.....

Sadly, there is no point booking it back in as the dealer cannot 'roll-back' the version, or fix any errors until the next version is released by JLR. You need to get onto customer services and make sure your dealer is reporting these faults back up the line...

JLR's TA system is not fit for purpose for the newer software issues. They close the case if you take the vehicle off site, so you either keep the car with them collecting dust and seagull s+%@ until the next update is available to try, or just end up in a cyclical loop where every two months you watch the end of your three year warranty looming.

Oh, and they still haven't fixed my USB media problem......

I think most folk seem to find 19A OK. It seems to have fixed a lot of things, seems quite stable and is noticeably more responsive.

When mine was upgraded to 19A, I lost voice control and voice guidance - this was fixed very quickly with no update to version number, so it would have been an 'installation error' - i.e. they forgot to do something during or after the upgrade. The light dark theme thing is a bug. I've not seen any changes to performance etc.

Depends where you're coming from - mine was pre-18 (what was called Vs 2.5 at one point) and this was a dog. If you're similar, I'd get the upgrade. If you're on a later more stable version, can't comment, depends on how much you want what you've got fixed....

19A seems to be working fine for me and seems to have fixed most of the problems , although some were intermittent and so I can't be absolutely certain. The auto/light/dark thing is irritating but I tend to run with it set to 'light' anyway so not a big deal. The voice control works as well as it ever did.....

The only thing I have noticed, which I am now thinking may be linked to the 19A upgrade, relates to the seat belt warning indicators. I am sure that before, as soon as you sat in the seat the red seat belt indicator came on for that seat, only switching to green when you put your seat belt on. If you took it off it went back to red. Now, if you sit in the seat there is no red warning. It goes to green when you put your seat belt on, and goes to red if you take it off again. It now means you can drive away without your selt belts on without any warning at all. Has anyone else noticed this since going to 19A or is it a) unrelated to the upgrade or b) I just have a dreadful memory and it always worked like this?

What was your USB media problem? I have a number and am awaiting the update from 18d to 19a in the hope they will fix them!

I had a look on Topix this week for something else and whilst I was there I looked at the F-Pace Software updates I found some interesting things there is an update to 19A, I still haven't got 19A yet, but 19A2 is available.
IMC (INFOTAINMENT MASTER CONTROLLER) - SOFTWARE VERSION: S19A_19.11.4-330884, ASSEMBLY PART NUMBER: LX73-19C204-BA (G2379676)
INCONTROL© TOUCH PRO 19A2
Release Date: 2019-03-26.
What is interesting was the note below on the release notes.
This release is only available when updating with Software Over The Air (SOTA)

I was told by my dealer today not to have the software update next week and to wait instead until phase 5 is available in a few weeks. He said book the car in during May for the phase 5 installation. Anyone else heard this?

Whatever version they have been uploading recently seems to have caused a few issues with total failure of the infotainment screen and satnav.

I think I will be waiting a few weeks for whatever joys phase 5/Patch 5.0 will bring

Did anyone get any more info on phase 5 or supposed issues it's fixing? Aside from my media woes, I also seem to be suffering from the car becoming super jumpy (again its driving my wife mad just going through the London streets).. Almost like a go cart rather than a big SUV! Is it really possible this could be a result of a bad software update and has anyone else noticed this? Currently on 18D I believe

#597 ·
That would not be a media fault if the vehicle is jumpy I'd get it to a dealer to check that problem out. The infotainment software is effectively sandboxed from all the vehicle software so that it can't cause problems. It takes CAN bus feeds but all communications between media bits is over its own network.
All manufacturers do this as they realise the media system is more likely to crash than any other as it is one complete system, basically there is a small PC they call the infotainment master controller in the car. All other car electronics are semi-autonomous so that car functions can still operate even if one module goes faulty e.g Limp home mode.

At the dealer today for first annual service. Reversing camera fault detected and asked to bring the car back in about 4 weeks to take care of it and phase 5 update at the same time. I have no further information on content of update.

Checked this on my car and it's as you say no red icons anymore, I'm running 19A.

Same problem since v3.0......

It now does one of 3 things, though never the same more than twice in a row......

1) Can't find/recognise the USB stick at all (sometimes removing it & re-inserting it works)

2) Recognises the Stick without assistance, but starts from scratch from first track, listing only a few hundred tracks and will not allow ffwd or accept any commands until it's played that first track and the full 10k + songs are then listed/recognised

3) Works as designed, straight away - continuing where it was when you last switched the ignition off. Sometimes it remembers where it was days/ weeks later even if the car refuses to recognise it for all that time, then suddenly, unexpectedly, off it goes....

There is no improvement with 18C, 18D or 19A... And updating to these has mucked up other systems.... It goes in next week for the umpteenth time.... Yawn

Fortunately, the classic iPod, that originally didn't work, now blasts out the tunes as soon as the ignition button is pressed most of the time.... SO, if it worked properly, with voice control, artwork etc like my previous RRS did and ICT (not pro) loan cars did, then I wouldn't bother with the USB at all...

I'm sure it is 'sandboxed', however having had every update since 2.5 in Nov 2016, I can categorically state that having these updates has resulted in REAL changes/problems with suspension, heated seats, rain sensing wipers, parking sensors, bluetooth and the lighthouse of all crap updates, in my car at least, the memory steering column - which sticks in the entry position when the software is equivalent to Windows Vista!

Also, there is going to be a noticeable effect on performance as often the memorised 'driving style' features are wiped when you get the car back, so you start from scratch again....
