Hi

does anyone else get a constant plastic rattle from the centre console. Seems to have got worse in the colder weather, but I'm getting pretty irritated with it now. Never seems to be coming from a single place either.. In or around the gear selector or around the sides of the touch screen.

thoughts welcome.

thanks

Have you checked out the sunglasses holder? I had a similar issue, I thought the rattle was from the left side of the car and passengers thought the rattle was from the drivers side of the car, it turned out to be the sunglasses in the holder and easily resolved.

I have also had the mysterious rattle which turned out to be my sunglasses and would probably still be looking for it now if it wasn't for this forum.

I had this almost from new.

Finally figured that it was coming from the little cubby below the touch-screen (forward of the gear selector.)
If I put my hand in and pressed on the roof of this cubby then the rattle stopped. in fact, with a light touch you could actually feel the roof of the cubby vibrating.
Dealer fixed it with "anti-rattle tape" (their words) and have had no problem since.

So, quick update. The cubby is definatley part of the problem, but not all of it. It does reduce the rattle, but there is still something coming from the left of it further up. Maybe even the glove box. Very difficult to pinpoint exactly, I may take it in at some point and get the dealer to have a look.
