Just thought I'd start the thread in readiness...

Apparently it's coming to a cinema near you very soon.....

I wonder what the 'Helmet' will become then?

Before all I am sorry to crash here as I do not have a F-Pace but instead a 2016 XF.

Infotainment version was updated to version S18C_18.37.1-222737.

After the upgrade the sound is crackling in every source (FM/Media/USB/Phone calls and Bluetooth audio).

Problem was reported and is also present on a friends 2017 F-Pace with the same software version.

I wonder if anyone experienced the same issue.

Kind regards and thanks for your patience.

I had the dreaded crackling from every audio source including front and rear sensors. Dealer replaced the amplifier which made no difference then replaced the head unit which eradicated the problem.
Currently running with 18c + Apple CarPlay, definitely best combination so far and I've had them all!...

Plenty others having it installed at other dealerships, there is no "hold " issued by JLR.
Sort of questions the dealers ability ??
Below is the response I have from Farnell Leeds

I have actively been seeking an answer with regards to the Apple Play update due to be launched by JLR with regards to your specific vehicle. As I mentioned in previous communications I was seeking advice from our regional JLR representative.
At this moment in time I have been instructed that the Apple Play app is not to be installed on vehicles. We are aware other retailers, including some Farnell braches, have already applied the update. However the feedback we have had is that the app is not yet fully functional and therefore we will not be issuing it until we have confirmation all bugs have been ironed out.
I hope you understand that we do this in the interest of our customers and not to cause frustration and upset.
At this point we do not have any official launch date and have been made aware so far it will only be applicable for the 19 model year, however they are working on software to backdate the software for previous models.
Bizarre, it certainly is fully functional , interestingly he' says "your specific vehicle ". Maybe you have an unsupported configuration? They do run a type of test program to ascertain the vehicle is capable of being upgraded before they do it....i.e Sim in the cubby etc.

Plus if they wait for all bugs to be ironed out that will be years and years 😂😂😂...sorry that was a bit of sarcasm.
Car went in for service, ICTP update done and despite what I was told before, now has CarPlay installed. So far all working ok.

Has anyone had problems updating maps since 18c? I have updated many times in the past but have tried with different USB's since 18c and the system does not go into update mode or even recognise that updated maps are on the USB. So unless the procedure has changed it seems to be a fault?

Mine updated ok after 18c
I just press nav then insert usb

Noticed an annoying issue today.
Started car
Took steering lock of ...gives ICTP time to start...
Connected iPhone
Hit the cross on the box so not to select car play or apps
Using voice to select an artist by "play rod Stewart " it says "Rod Stewart " please wait synchronising " then does nothing.🤬

Not had this issue before , it recognises the speach but won't play it .

I'm on IPhone

This worked perfectly until today , nothing changed except setting up a personal home screen.

I've got ICTP 18C on my F-Pace Delivered yesterday but no ACP or AA, just ICTP... Is there another patch required, do I have to have this done at the dealer (and is it chargeable?) or can I download it and install it myself. The Infortainment says there is no Update available when I ask it to check?

I can't add the vehicle to my account as its claims to be already registered to another user for the Jaguar Remote App - suspect the dealer needs to click a link somewhere to let me add it?

Also, the data SIM is missing - I though all MY19 cars came with a free 500MB per months SIM?

I have 18c and have updated to the latest map software without any problems...

You need to ask the dealership to add the Smartphone Activation Pack to get ACP / AA. Some charge £200, hopefully they'll do it FOC.
No over the air updates right now.
Suspect you will have to nudge the deanship for the SIM; I think they're supposed to supply them

I read somewhere that there is a list of modules that must be updated before get access to activate the "smartphone pack". Since I ask my dealer to do all updates and still get no APC/AA I am trying to find what is wrong.

Pressing and holding the left side of the time indicator in ICTP I can get acesse to engineering mode, and can check the software version all of modules related with the infotainment system. Could someone here that has ACP/AA working properly confirm (maybe using pictures) the software version installed ? I would like to do a "double check" and see If my dealer forgot something...

Thanks !

Happy to do this; is entering "engineering mode" simple/obvious? I haven't seen this suggestion to "press left side of the time indicator" before

Thanks DjP

The dealer is apparently 'sorting' the SIM but is being quiet on the ACP/AA front - I'm expecting another call from him tomorrow as I'm still not able to connect and add my vehicle in the Remote App which is usually simple to do, so along with the other 'gift' I'm being promised due to issues with the vehicle before delivery, I will be seeking the Smartphone Activation pack! Just hope I can arrange with them to get my local dealer who I didn't buy it from to do it on their behalf as I really don't want a 300-mile round trip (wishful thinking I suspect!)

BTW - I think I read on hear others are getting 'static' or 'crackling' coming from the speakers whilst playing music/media, using the phone and or satnav? I've got the same issue it's not getting any worse or better, I also have times when I get no sound from the satnav (just a dip in the music volume if it's on where the Satnav would usually prompt). This ONLY cure I've found for that is to stop, turn off, Open the driver's door, lock/unlock restart. The car equivalent of Ctrl/Alt/Del I guess  - is this common?

The dealers get paid from JLR for this work, so you may not get huge reluctance from your local dealer (but they'll likely be sad you didn't buy from them!)

Indeed, Coventry and Solihull couldn't match my PCH goal price unfortunately, albeit Coventry was much closer were still over £20 PCM more for the same spec.. Cov will get my servicing business though as where much friendlier and easier to deal with during the process ;)

Good news !
Posted too soon, when I said all working ok. Ambient lighting keeps returning to default settings and instrument cluster display theme not being saved when changed, defaults to technical with Jaguar logo (no clock).

Yes the ambient light is a know pen issue , guess the next update will fix.
I can set the display on the instrument cluster ok though, I've set to the music and that has stayed ok.

Anyone had a dealer in or around London (ideally North East) who has updated the smartphone activation pack? I originally bought from beadles but too far away and closest place (rockar jaguar which registers as Westfield Stratford) claimed they aren't installing it!

After reporting on 30.11.2018 that after my ITCP upgrade my system was ok, it has worked perfectly until today when the Radio locked up, wouldn't do anything and my station list box was empty! It took me three attempts at locking and unlocking the car before the gremlin was removed and all appears to be functioning normally again. In addition with my Android phone simply connected to charge up but apparently not using Android Auto, I noticed my on-board SIM was rinsing data. Seems a bit odd !
I was going to report that since my Patch 4.0 all was hunky dory with the ITCP but I would obviously have given it a commentator's curse. 😳

few of my issues after the 18C update + smartphone pack installation (2017 built / 2018MY)

1. Car play does not work. when I plug it into any of the USB ports - just says "Apple Car play not available". Tried both ports, many different cables.
2. Incontrol Apps stopped working also. says "Incontrol apps not available".
3. Navigation is on mute, no sound for announcements.
4. Voice control - stopped working all together. when I press the button - nothing happens. why I try to open the function on the touchscreen - nothing happens.

will bring this to the dealer, though I think not much he can do if there is no newer software patch.
Just got mine back from the dealer and I have the same issue with voice control not working with exactly the same symptom - nothing happens when I push the voice button. Did you find a way to get it to work/was dealer able to sort it out? Thanks

Hi tonythehoolet!
no progress on Voice control yet.
I got the Carplay and Incontrol Apps fixed, but Navigation has no sound and Voice control is not working.
also my Remote app is now working. However lost Mobile Data - just shows striked through G icon instead of 4G and no internet.

I have booking on 28th of December, hopefully will be fixed. my dealer is good, but if those are software issues and there are no updates, little they can do... let me know if yours gets fixed before that.

I have been playing and I am a little further forward but don't yet have it working to my satisfaction. I connected my handset via the Android auto app to try that out for the first time and USB and the voice recognition worked both in Android Auto (talking to Google) and then on the Jaguar voice control. If I then subsequently disconnected my phone from USB/turned off Android auto the Jaguar voice recognition continued to work.

However if I then re-started my car, the voice button again failed to respond... but began to do so 5 minutes after re-start !!! I'll play further tomorrow...
