Firstly my apologies if this subject has been covered before but I couldn't find it if it has. I'm due to collect my new FP next Friday and currently own a 2017 XF with the full jaguar in control remote option. How do I either cancel or delete my current vehicle details and set up the new one once I've collected it next week?

Firstly sign out of each account associated with your car.

Then delete all profiles and clear your search history.

Options to do this are located in Navigation settings and Live settings.

On your current car do what Jagfpacejk said.

Or you can do it via the website. Go to https://incontrol.jaguar.com/jaguar-portal-owner-web/dashboard

Select the car on the top left, then click the cog 'Vehicle Settings' on the top right...

Rectangle Font Magenta Software Brand

Then select 'Remove vehicle'

You can add the new car in a similar way from the initial screen...

Thanks for raising and responding to this question. :)

Nice and clear, I am sure the information will be very useful to others when their time comes to either add or delete vehicles from their InControl accounts.

I've made this thread a 'sticky' so it'll always be clearly visible at the start of the Faults & Technical section of the forum.

Can someone clarify the "connected users" bit for me? Does that mean that I could add 'er indoors with her own versions of the apps?

I think it means you can have multiple people with the InControl Remote app on their phone, all with the ability to start, open, condition the car etc. InControl Apps is a different app on the phone. But yes, it could have different apps on your wife's phone than yours because all the car does is display the app from the phone.

In respect of this if you're buying a used f pace make sure the seller removes your vehicle from their account. I couldn't link car to myself as was showing as already linked to someone else. I got told when I phoned jaguar that if I went to a local dealer with proof car was mine they could reallocate to me but when I went they were adamant they couldn't and it could only be done by previous owner. Luckily I managed to get the previous owners email address off the screen in my car and they responded (had bought off a dealer).

As others know on here even though I was told by the dealer they had removed me, I was able to view both my F Paces for many months after they'd been sold on.
Me too, just looked again and I can still look up ect my previous two cars.

Not sure what the new owners are doing but they are not using this feature.

I have deleted my account and apps to try to help them in case they want to use the features in the future.

Hi,

I have an issue of not being able to ADD VEHICLE to my account. I tried myself, my dealer tried - no luck.
Everything is fine until the last step (Activation) when I submit the form with the nickname and enter PIN code, after pressing NEXT I get message "AN ERROR OCCURRED". We tried together with my local Dealer and later with the Importer different ways (I trigger registration, dealer triggers registration, dealer creates new account, etc.) - same result. Importer even tried to add my car to their account - same error.

when you go to other pages in the portal, I get the notification about the completion of the Vehicle registration, which opens same Activation form and results in same error.

now my case has been filed with the JLR support as neither the Dealer nor Importer was able to resolve this. So waiting for some news now from the Manufacturer.

For security and data protection reasons only the dealership can add and specifically remove users from In Control.
It cannot be done by a user , otherwise it would be a thief's charter.
I'd suggest if your dealer cannot help you you Contact Customer Services for your region.

Thanks June16 for your comment. but as I mentioned already - many parties are involved in my case:
me > Local Dealer > Importer > Jaguar.

Jaguar asked for all the fault codes to be read and documented, there are none, but all details have been provided, so just waiting for them to comeback.

P.S. and you can add the vehicle yourself for sure :) why would there be that button "ADD VEHICLE" when you login to your account? :)

Yes it's not a good situation to be in for sure.
Maybe another user is already set up for you Car, I'm not sure how or even why this could happen.
But only a dealer or Customer Services can see the back end of the database and therefore remove old accounts /clear the system , sort it out for In Control .

There must be a reason you can't add your own car, without dealership access or Customer Services or as you say Jaguar Support or help your stuck Im afraid.
Your dealership could have raised what they call a Technical Assistance (TA ) Call directly to JLR fir help I suppose.

Hope you get it fixed soon.

Only other possibility ......did you own a Landrover with In Control before the jaguar ?
And what region are you in?

it's a German car, which I bought from a dealer in Germany myself.
I brought it home to Lithuania.
I have a local dealer (which is a retailer) and then Importer/Distributor in Finland. :) I initially contacted German support, which routed the issue to my local dealer... but eventually we had to get the Finns involved :) so now my problem is now becoming international, as JLR support in UK is having the ball now.

I was thinking about Regions, but the specialist from Finland confirmed that regions are not relevant for this type of registration. When he connect to his environment and looks up my VIN there are no other accounts associated globally. I'm optimistic that it should be resolved eventually as now many parties got involved, so will share the news when I get something.

Hi ksf,

Today I registered to this forum to because I saw your post. I have exactly the same issue with my from Germany imported Jaguar XE. I imported it November 1st to The Netherlands. The previous InControl (dealer)account was disconnected by the InControl support desk. Unfortunately I'm also unable to register the car to my account. Like you, I get the same error at the same place. I tried creating a new account, different email, same error.
I do get a disclaimer in the registration process that my car's registered country of use is a different country, but I can agree to it and move on. Up until the page where I can name the car. That's the end of the line for me right now.

Both our cars come from Germany. I'm thinking of creating a German InControl account just to see if the car registers to it, if my dealer can't come up with a solution.

Please reply here when your dealer finds a solution. I will do the same if my dealer does.

Hi roma0803,

good to know I'm not alone :)
Yes, I got that disclaimer popup too.
I did try creating German account also - did not help. When I was at my dealer we together tried all the possible combinations - no joy.

On Friday I got some response back from the Finland. I was asked to check if the red SOS light is on. which I confirmed that yes, it's on - red.
they also said: "one diagnostic application must be carried out to the vehicle so a workshop visit is required." So I booked visit on Tuesday. maybe I will get some progress then. I hope.

no updates from today's visit at the shop.
dealer tried to follow the instructions - still same error. so information passed back to Importer who should pass it over to JLR and we wait for more news.. will update on the progress when I get something.

Ah ok, disappointing for the both of us. The second coincidence besides the import from Germany was the red SOS light. After reading your post I checked, and mine was on too. So I was hoping this would be the cause of the error.

My dealer is this week actively searching for a solution since he's kind of frustrated too he can't provide his customer with a solution. If there's any progress, successful or not, I'll report back here.

Thanks for your post ksf.

KSF - You are not alone - my car is a UK car delivered within the UK to a previous LandRover Range Rover Owner. My account has had the Range Rover deleted (by me) and initially failed to add the new vehicle as it said it was already registered to another owner. I called my dealer this morning, they reset the account/unlocked the car VIN and now when I log in I get the same issues as you, claims my car is partially set up, asks me to add a nickname etc., then click next only to get the same "An error has occurred" as you. The dealer is baffled and I've logged a ticket with JLR Support who 'claim' this is the first they've heard of this issue!

sorry to hear that you also have this problem. but at the same time knowing that more cars are affected makes me feel optimistic that the solution is not far away...
I still could not find a suitable time slot to go for this telematics support session.. will try to fix an appointment with my dealer this week.
I somehow think it is something wrong with the server side, not the car itself.. anyway I will update when I have something new. Likewise please post if you get something to share.

I've had support from JLR customer services, but without luck. They forwarded my issue to their tech desk, so maybe they can figure something out. And I have an appointment at my Jaguar dealer next Thursday. He want's to update the software (and in the process give my Apple CarPlay ;-) ) and see if he can solve the issue.

To be continued...

Today my issue was solved.
I now have the car connected to my Incontrol account.
I don't know the solution yet, asked for some reference details to share with you, but so far did not get any comments.
I got yesterday an activation request email, which was triggered by JLR tech support. I tried to activate, but it did not work - same error. I reported back to the dealer by email - that it did not help.
Today in the morning I tried to process that last activation step - still same error. But now tried in the afternoon and it just worked.
I'm travelling today, and the car is at home in the garage, so cannot test if everything is functioning - but I see on the app some of the details about the status - so looks that there is connection to the car.

I hope to have some comments on what was done to get it activated, but I'm almost certain now that issue is on the application server, not the car.
Hopefully will update some more tomorrow.

Thanks for your post ksf. Congrats your issue is fixed.

So due to your post I tried to finalize the registration in My InControl and guess what, I was able to finish the registration and connect my car to my account.

I guess one of us managed to get the correct desk to do the thing that was needed. Happy with the result :)
