Confirmation in writing from my dealer just now that they have the "comprehensive" update for ICTP and it's going into my car from Monday so will report back!

Sorry that was cruel.
I take it I'm being a tad naive... great.
Things might have improved but the various updates I had took anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks!

I would say that if it's not broke don't try to fix it.
Oh mine were always just about plain sailing until this one. Ended up with a new ICTP unit which I think is better.

I got a call from my dealer that tomorrow a 'major' update for V3 will be available.
They will first test it on a demo F Pace at the dealer and when everything works as it should, I will be scheduled to install the update on my car next week
Fingers crossed, because the V3 update totally screwed up my ICTP (which worked fine on V2.5)

When did that appear on Topix?

It describes quite accurately the problems I've had post 3.0 with my bluetooth/phone, but sadly no mention of the screwed up USB music interface...

I looked on Topix after your post last night Mbadger and it didn't appear to be listed, looked again this morning and it was at the top of the list :D
P.S. forgot to say, this time I'm not volunteering to go anywhere near first for this update.
Don't worry guys and girls. Guinea pig here and ready to run headlong in again. Hope to report soon.

I've had the 3.0 upgrade which cured all the problems I had previously but it has introduced the increased startup time and not remembering last track played on USB stick. It's 6 steps forward and two back.

Yes the sometimes slow startup has become a pain. I mitigate it by using remote start now it's cold and it's fine then as long as you remember.
Hoping to have latest V3 patch in next few days,

By the time they sort this out,..it will have more patch's than a three year old learning to ride a bicycle whilst replacing his 40 cigs a day habit with nicotine plasters!! All joking aside this has gone on far to long,....considering JLR raving about a 600 strong software development team pushing the limits of in car entertainment!

Perverse as it's sounds, I'm sort of glad you too have USB music problems since the update as up 'till now I've been made to feel it's just me...

Before update, it was slow to read data and start playing, but usually did and carried on where it was last set If I can be bothered to attempt to try it, the routine now is....

Now it can take 5-10 mins into a journey to find/recognise USB, sometimes not at all. This occasionally happens with ipod too, but I digress...

When/if it eventually starts playing, 90% of the time it starts with first track listed in alphabetical (numerical actually) order - regardless of how long the ignition has been off or that it was last used on random song playlist.

Selecting next track initially has no effect, then it will start to jump forward playing 9 secs of the next track in quick succession ,moving on to the next and so on, while the info on the screen remains for the first track it attempted to play

Using 'Find' to try and select play/shuffle all 6000 tracks results in it only going back to playing the first track again.... To see if it has now gone into select 'shuffle mode' press next track, then it plays the next track numerically then skips as described above.

Go back to 'Find and try again and most of the time you get blank screen....

This farce carries on for over 10 mins while you hear bits of the same 4 tracks over and over. Most of the time, if you are able to borrow a handy Saint's patience, it eventually settles down and works as it should..... until you turn the engine off and... deja vu.

I'm still waiting for customer service to come back to me, but it will soon be Christmas 2019 and the warranty will have expired so they can enjoy their party in peace.

Bluetooth is great now too, intermittently interrupting calls with silence at one end and a brief burst of Kylie at the other..

Best recent news is the much lauded seat repair that I had to wait over six months to have authorised has lasted a mere two weeks of low setting heated seat use before the cushion has started to collapse and the leather has a permanent deep depression to keep me company...

I like they way there will never now be a 'ICTP 4.0' thread as we will now have 17D etc. This must make JLR#5.2's thread an endangered species that surely should be protected?!

I'm going to tax the TR7...

The thread or the TR7?!

ICTP is very taxing, but the TR7 needs a lot more than taxing to be fair......

Like a complete re-build for example...

At least it's electrics are a bit more reliable than the F Pace's........ Even if they are all in boxes currently..... :D
A TR7 nice. If it's not rusted away well done. Corrie I'll let you know about the update as I'm in tomorrow. Mind you mine is ok apart from the slow start and one or two oddities.

Ah... Looks great for a 37yr old car from the back.... Just don't look forward of the windscreen!

I'm getting no return call from JLR customer service or dealer so getting quite p@s#ed off. Going to France next week with this stupid sat nav and media it's going to be fabulous... Mine is also 'hunting' and doing bizzare gear changes in the colder weather - don't know if it's update related.

Presumably it's not really an 'update' but another 3hr complete software reload?

Yes it might be a 3 hr Job but hopefully they can get you in this week. Even if booked up they can squeeze you in or they can request car from,Jag. Hopefully you can speak to somebody at dealer and sort.

Just spoke to Harwoods and looking at 3_005_07 on their system it is dated ' January 2017' and not a new one - they are not aware of any update in the last week.....

They could fit me in to do it, albeit without a loan car for the day, but only if there is ctually a new update!

Have you any more info on what Guy Salmon are going to try with yours?
