Here are some notes (attached PDF file) I made for installing a dash cam, this model is a twin camera set up one front one rear facing. Hopefully it will help anyone trying something similar.
Is that rear cam sticking outside the car ?? The wire is outside you say as well stuck with pad . ?
I agree reasonably brave doing yourself and not keen on the box stuck to front window and especially not on something externally.

Ha looked again can see it inside and the reaction. I thought it was trailing outside when he said cable was outside
Never seen these cams so really didn't know what to expect
The trim panel for fuse box is held in by bolts, I used one of these with a suitable cable loop end crimped on, a nice feature of aluminium structure is that it ought to be a good conductor!
I have mine wired into 12v socket in armrest but not too happy with it using up the socket - so might have another go at fuse box - just is so little space and need to be a contortionist to look into where the board is

I think you're very brave taking stuff to bits on your cars like that. I'm not sure I'm gonna dare, I'm sure to break a nail trying to prise things off :roll: :lol:
Permanent live was the left hand seat power I figured it wouldn't get overloaded as car is often just me. The switched live was the 12v rear supply... Same reasoning not otherwise in use.
I have fitted a Nextbase front facing no worries, hardwired into the fusebox in the passenger side well.
Now I have brought a cheaper LANKA 1080p for the rear, all working well as currently plugged into the socket in the boot.
I want to hardwire the rear one as well and have identified the fusr box in the boot.
Has anyone experience of removing the rubber cable/pipe ducts at the top of the hatch to thread the necessary cabling?
I have removed the rhs rubber conduit but the cables within it seem firm, very little movement to free them up.
Any advice would be recommended as either of these rubber conduits seem ideal to thread the power cable through
I'd be interested in any feedback on the one above, I've had nextbase hard wired into the front, and put one in on my significant others car, but for the price, it seems reasonable to fit one in the rear, any info as to hard wiring would be appreciated
Dashcam update, the power monitor device died after 11 months, I now have my camera powered from switched 12V socket. A mate had same camera same power device and it too failed... result, camera good power monitor - poor, not worth the money. Couldn't be bothered to complain as it cost little but I really ought to write negative review.
I also found that as car Wifi turns off, there is no point in having cloud features of the camera. Thinking I may buy MiFi device (4G bonus as my MY2017 FPace is poxy 3G - dimwit Jaguar, surprised it didn't have a modem or acoustic coupler! ) so it is on all the time but worried about battery drain.
Normally I'd think I was unlucky but as my mate's one packed up as well I am sceptical. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and give it a second chance, the concept is very good.
I'm over here in the UK, the Blackvue 750 isn't released here yet - supposed to be anytime now.
Waiting till I can get it as I believe its a big step forward on the 650.

Are there any members who have managed to do a 1st class install on a rear view camera that can maybe explain or show photos as to how they got round concealing the cable and its route into the vehicle.
Apparently I'm informed that the FPace has a sealed 1 piece rear door (think that's what they meant) which makes things very difficult.
HI there Supermackem..... Why don't you look at the first pages of this thread where I posted some pictures of how I did my installation - Or have you and suggesting that it's not first class?
Currently my cam is using a 12v socket. The battery protector failed so it's not hard wired. I am beginning to think the whole of the front fuse box shuts down 10 minutes after the car is locked. So right now I can't help. Anyone else know which fuse if any are permanently live?
