Yup I tried many different SIMs in JLR5.1 all with the same result .... fixed now .. so there was something wrong with the antenna I think on the original
As I have said before, still stinks of dodgy earthing, 3G reception, ICTP issues .....

If you get it now, I don't think the 12 months starts until you first log in to activate the SIM card, so you should still end up with 12 months available to you to use up the data.

Based on the fact that prices tend to fall in this area over time, I'd probably leave it till September if I were you.

I too purchased one, it arrived today. I know it goes in the boot and I have seen the slot, but what happens after I push it in?? Or what do I do next.. please

Probably best buy it now as they may change or withdraw the offer.

Just an FYI for folks (as I was looking) - this deal is now £22.99 for 12GB pre-paid to use within 12 months. Seems to be by far the best deal out there.....

Out of interest, with these 3 SIMs has anyone got to the end of 12mths and had to do the top up yet?

Was looking on the website to see if I could just top up again with the same deal, but could only find monthly top ups, and that was £10 for 1Mb - not bloody likely when you've effectively just given it to me for £2.40 per mth!

I know the 12mth doesn't kick in until you activate the card, so wonder if it's worth buying another one in readiness now??!!

I have been looking at phone sim card ect deals for my mother and if you want one in your phone then you can get some great deals but one to use on the car can not be beaten by the 3 sim.

Hi, I've searched the forum but haven't quite got the right answer...

Do I need to buy a sim card if I plan to use my iPhone 5 via arm rest USB to provide data to my ICTP? (I get good 4/3G iPhone coverage with healthy data plan).

Will this approach provide data for traffic updates and ICTP apps etc? I'm not interested in in-car WiFi for passengers.

Due to pick up my F-Pace next week, and keen to avoid unnecessary purchase!

I'm on my 2nd 12 month 3GB Pre paid sim, on the old one the live traffic just stopped working, I put a new one in (purchased again from Amazon) and it all worked fine again :)

Bought mine a few weeks ago and will give to the dealer before I collect my car, he can sort it out.
Not being great with this kind of equipment ( I'm more of a nut & bolt guy) I was also concerned on how you actually make the SIM card thingy work.
But rest assured, all I did was pushed the card into the slot in the boot, clicked on HI-FI on the main dashboard screen and it connected and worked straight away.

Just as an update, ive seen a lot about the sim being in the boot of the car, however, I've got an owners manual supplement within my documents pack which refers to the sim now being within the armrest cubby.

It certainly is in the armrest cubby on mine. Put the "forum standard" Three 12G 12m data SIM on handover on Saturday, did something in the ICTP connectivity menu and it worked just fine :)

Flub!

Pro is in the armrest, non-pro is in the boot

Correct for MY2018 spec onwards. Not sure about vehicles with ICTP, but certainly ICT models it was in the boot for MY2016/17

It does look like a recent change hence the supplement, for info mines the non-pro :) or ict and its in the arm rest.

Just ordered the 3 sim, hope its easy to set up.
